The "Making News Roadshow"

A series of free-of-charge large-scale workshops in citizen TV reporting in locations around the UK. The programme is also international, starting in Japan in September, where visionOntv is going to the heart of the tsunami zone to train disaster survivors to make their own media. They will also use their pop-up TV studio, teaming up with relief NGO Peace Boat, to record the eye-witness accounts and the tragic stories, and ask people: what do you need now?

visionOntv is a video training project and independent Internet TV station. We organise DIY media workshop all around UK, teaching people how to be their own media. Crucially we are creating social media toolkits so that real communities of action can be built. visionOntv is the world's largest resource of citizen video (more than 10000 films) and curates unique channels of content, such as Grassroots (UK citizen reports), PlugandPlay (the latest tech news and debate) and many others.
